Dignity in Diversity

Vanaja Collective

We are together, and we identify as ‘the historically oppressed’(a large community which includes women, LGBTIQA++, ethnic/ caste minorities, religious minorities, disabled communities and others). Everyday we witness how our sisters, brothers and others get tortured by the systemic power structures in order to get us silenced, in order to get us use our labour and life-energy to sustain the discriminations. To some of us, this endless assertion of power on own lives caused unending state of trauma and to some of us it has costed our lives.

At VANAJA or ‘the feminine born of the forest’, we believe that changes towards inclusivity and accommodation can be brought to the society collectively. We believe in ‘oppressed unity’ and we are here to work on the many aspects of it from the perspective of intersectional feminism. We believe in unconditional love which has been historically prohibited to us, we believe it can create spaces of peace and magic which we deserve as human beings born on this beautiful earth.

ഞങ്ങൾ കൂട്ടമായും ഓരോരുത്തരായും തങ്ങളെ മനസിലാക്കുന്നത് ‘ചരിത്രപരമായി അടിച്ചമർത്തൽ നേരിട്ടവർ’ (സ്ത്രീകൾ, ക്വിയർ വ്യക്തികൾ, ദലിത്, ആദിവാസി സമുദായങ്ങൾ, മത ന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങൾ, ഡിസേബിൾഡായവർ തുടങ്ങിയവരടങ്ങിയ വലിയ ഒരു വലിയ കമ്യൂണിറ്റി) എന്ന നിലയിലാണ്. ഞങ്ങളെ നിശ്ശബ്ദരാക്കാനും, വിവേചനങ്ങൾ നിലനിർത്തുന്നതിനായി ഞങ്ങളുടെ അധ്വാനവും ജീവിക്കാനുള്ള ഊർജവും ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യാനും വേണ്ടി അധികാര ഘടനകളാൽ ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരങ്ങളും മറ്റുള്ളവരും പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിന് ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും സാക്ഷികളാവുന്നു.

വനജയുടെ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ‘വനത്തിൽ നിന്നുണ്ടായ പെൺമ’ എന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത് സമൂഹത്തിൽ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളലുകളുടേതായ മാറ്റങ്ങൾകൊണ്ടുവരാൻ കഴിയുമെന്നാണ്. ‘അടിച്ചമർത്തപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ഐക്യ’ത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്റർസെക്ഷണൽ ഫെമിനിസത്തിന്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിലൂടെ ഐക്യപ്പെടലിന്റെ വിവിധ തരം പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ കാഴ്ചവയ്ക്കാനായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. ചരിത്രപരമായി നമുക്ക് നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള നിരുപാധിക സ്‌നേഹത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ഈ മനോഹരമായ ഭൂമിയിൽ ജനിച്ച മനുഷ്യരെന്ന നിലയിൽ നമുക്ക് അർഹതപ്പെട്ട സമാധാനവും വിസ്മയങ്ങളും ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഇടങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ സ്‌നേഹത്തിന് കഴിയുമെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
